It&#8217;s cool to see some cities embracing what they can be &#8212; smaller communities connected to others and to the HUB of Dallas/Ft. Worth, and then sort of &#8220;living into&#8221; that personality.<br />
And, as cities make way for new companies and business, they sustain more suitable community for the people who ARE the city.<br />
Case in point: <a href="http://mckinneytexas.org/">McKinney, TX. </a><br />
They are fueled (literally) by the completed tollway that more easily connects them to downtown Dallas, and the plans are to be an attractive spot for more and more corporations to come call &#8220;home.&#8221; (Again, read:<strong> jobs and homes and community</strong>).</p>
<p>McKinney&#8217;s land is only 29 percent developed, and so there is room to &#8220;grow;&#8221; it&#8217;s good to see city leaders with the desire to keep that growth smart and sustainable. <a href="http://www.nbcdfw.com/the-scene/real-estate/McKinney-Looking-to-Attract-Corporations-139047764.html">Read the NBC news story and some Mayoral reactions HERE</a>.</p>
<p>All in all, news like this means it&#8217;s a fair time to invest in a thriving community. <a href="http://www.mckinneytx.org/">McKinney still boasts </a>that small-town feel, close-knit values, and seemingly sustainably-visionary-minded leaders. Tough combo!</p>

<p>November&#8217;s existing home sales hit their highest mark in 10 months, and new home sales were the year&#8217;s second best, IHS Global Insight says.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>One of the best parks in Coppell, Tx has to be the Duck Pond Park.</p>
<p>The Duck Pond Park is located at 400 East Bethel School Road. It sits on 5 acres, has a great playground, a picnic area and a one acre pond. One of the reasons that residents of Coppell Tx give for Coppell having that small town feel are the parks in the area.</p>

<p>Even if you are not currently looking to buy/sell a home (though, come on, you KNOW someone who is, I&#8217;m sure), still, all of us hope for good growth for the housing market in 2012. And, the signs are there, even as the market analysts have learned to be modest about predictions.</p>
<p>And, as this blog preaches and teaches, DFW remains above the fray of constant foreclosures and market drops. While we wait for the official numbers for DFW HOMES in Decemeber, the DallasMorningNews reports the numbers through November:</p>
<p>&#8220;Unless there’s a flood of year-end filings, 2011 will have the fewest home foreclosure postings North Texas has seen since 2008.  Through the first 11 months of the year, lenders have posted just over 51,000 Dallas-Fort Worth area homes for foreclosure.  That’s 12 percent fewer than this time in 2010, according to Foreclosure Listing Service. And it’s 9 percent fewer than for the same period in 2009.“</p>

<p>The North Arlington, TX area has interesting development underway. As central as Irving developments can be to life cultural life spanning things-to-do in Dallas and Forth Worth, the North Arlington area sits in a very similar position, on the Fort Worth side. In Arlington, you can also hop on I-30 and head east or west and be there soon.</p>
<p>&#8220;So, what&#8217;s going on?&#8221; there you ask?</p>
<p>Well, development is currently happening, and it could be a good time to look to locate in/around the area.</p>
<p>Huffines Communities, Inc has a master-planned community and the building is underway. &#8220;The project includes 5,300 residential homes with 500,000 square feet of office and 200,000 square feet of retail woven into the development.&#8221; These home prices will range from $200,000 to more than $1 million.</p>
<p>The highlghts of the community in progress are focuses on &#8220;new urbanism&#8221; living––intentional organization to increase pedestrian access to everyday things––state of the art design, and prime location (mentioned above). And, it hopes to be quite &#8220;green.&#8221;</p>
